Good things happen when we do the simple things well. Sometimes we seem to forget that it is cheap to build health than repairing it.
Eating well, Regular health checks, looking after our wellbeing and exercising are the building blocks of health.
Health is made at home, Hospitals are for repairs.
In March 2019 TUHEDA received a grant from National Lottery Community Fund for Project Health is wealth. The aim of the project was to raise awareness of diseases that affects our communities a great deal. Diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension, Heart diseases and strokes affect many people. All these diseases can be prevented by adhering to simple and affordable means, like eating well, exercises, regular health checks and self appreciation. With the seminar , many people had the opportunity to ask questions and even have some health checks on site. We touched issues like mental health, gang crime and drug misuse. Covid-19 got in the way of our face to face meetings , but we did not give up. We went on to continue via webinars and social media. Our Youtube channel has been a source of knowledge, both in Swahili and English.
